How to Build an Awning Without Neighboring Problems?
Once you've decided to build an awning, one important issue you shouldn't overlook is your neighbors. Even if you're building an awning within your own fence, it can impact neighbors, including noise from the construction process and pollution generated during the awning extension. To avoid conflict with neighbors, try the following:
Communicate with them
Learn the law
Don't forget to install gutters on the awning
Does it block your neighbor's view?

How to build an awning without breaking the law?
Before building an awning, you must not only understand your neighbors, but also the law. The Building Control Act stipulates that construction or additions must be kept at a distance between buildings to ensure the safety of residents and prevent disturbance to neighbors. The following requirements apply:
Awning additions must be at least 50 centimeters from the eaves to the property boundary.
Alterations other than the building structure using different materials or adding more than 10% of the original weight. A permit must be submitted for any alterations, additions, or changes to the home's floor area using materials different from the original.
If the weight is increased by more than 10% of the original weight, a permit must be submitted. If the addition is adjacent to or adjacent to a neighboring property, a distance of at least 2 meters from the neighboring property boundary must be submitted.
