What are the requirements and documents for equal marriage registration?
LGBTQIAN+ couples can register their marriage at district registration offices, municipal registration offices, and all Thai embassies/consulates abroad. LGBTQIAN+ couples must meet the following qualifications and provide the following documents:

1. Qualifications for Equal Marriage Registration
– Both individuals must be at least 18 years of age.
– In the case of minors, parental or guardian consent is required.
– For those under 18, court permission is required.
– They must not be mentally incapacitated or legally incompetent.
– They must not be siblings sharing the same parents or only one parent.
– They must not be married to another person.
– An adoptive parent cannot marry their adopted child.
– The spouses have died or their marriage has ended for other reasons.
– A new marriage is only possible after at least 310 days have passed since the termination of the previous marriage, unless:
• A child has been born at that time.
• The court has issued an order allowing the marriage.
• A medical certificate stating that the person is not pregnant is provided.
• The marriage is with the former spouse.

2. Documents Required for Equal Marriage Registration
– National ID card or identity verification via the ThaiD application
– Thai passport
– Two witnesses who must be of legal age
– Certificate of marital status stating that there is no spouse at the time of marriage registration
– Letter of consent (in cases where the legal guardian of a minor aged 18 or older cannot give consent in person)
– Prenuptial agreement (if applicable) *If the document is in a foreign language, it must be translated into Thai.

3. Fees
Marriage registration at the registration office is free. Marriage registration outside the registration office costs 200 baht.
